NSW has a new Labor government, with Chris Minns, Labor leader, and his party winning in a decisive victory this weekend.
In summary, it was a decisive victory to the Labor Government, and presents them with a strong mandate for their key priorities in education and the public sector but energy is unlikely to be significantly impacted. The Labor government has committed to accelerating the Renewable Energy Zone and Electricity Infastructure Roadmap rollout, and reducing emissions. Like all policies, the details will be most interesting, and we will continue to keep you abreast of these as they develop.
Thanks to former Energy Minister Matt Kean for his leadership and we commend both Dominic Perrottet and Chris Minns on their collegial and unifying campaigns. This sets the tone for respectful and effective governance to come in NSW.
