Net zero climate targets legislated in NSW

Congratulations to Minister Penny Sharpe and the NSW Government in legislating greenhouse gas emissions targets in NSW – 50% by 2030, 70% by 2035 and net zero by 2050. In addition, NSW has committed to establish an independent Net Zero Commission.

The Climate Change (Net Zero Future) Act 2023 representes the first state piece of legislation incorporating a net zero target into law and constitutes a huge win in the energy transition.

Stride will be watching the appointments to the Net Zero Commission with interest.
