The first tender round closed on 10 February, with financial bids from 16 shortlisted projects (a total of 4.3 GW generation and storage). Announcements are expected by April 2023.
The next round of tenders is expected Q2 2023 (April-June), and will also include firming and Access Rights (for Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone).
Merit criteria (especially non-financial criteria on community engagement and regional economic development) are likely to change according to learnings from the first round and feedback from stakeholders.
